Richmond town

Richmond is an intriguing town, packed with buildings of significant historic interest. Take time to explore the Norman castle, take a tour of the Georgian Theatre Royal (the oldest theatre in the country which is still a working theatre), or visit one of the museums to learn more about life in Richmondshire over the centuries, or the Green Howards museum, packed with information and memorabilia about the historic local regiment. The compact town centre makes it ideal to explore on foot, following the many wynds (alley ways) which wind their way between streets.
